Travis Kelce on whether people believe Chiefs’ offense is back: ‘I don’t give a damn’

The Chiefs have scored a combined 53 points in the playoff, and it’s their best two-game stretch in nearly three months.

In victories over the Bears and Jets in Weeks 3 and 4, the Chiefs scored 64 points.

For much of the season, talk surrounding the Chiefs has been about what ails the offense, with the focus being on a trio of issues. Penalties, turnovers and dropped passes frequently plagued the team.

The Chiefs finished with the NFL’s 15th ranked scoring offense (21.8 points per game), the first time they’ve finished out of the top 10 since the 2016 season. The following spring, the Chiefs drafted quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

But the offense looked sharp in Sunday’s win at Buffalo, as the Chiefs piled up 361 yards in just 47 plays (7.7 yards per snap). That came after the Chiefs scored 26 points against the Dolphins on a frigid night at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

In the latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast, Eagles center Jason Kelce asked his brother, tight end Travis Kelce, if people are starting to respect the Chiefs offense again.

Travis Kelce struck a defiant tone with his response.

“I don’t give a damn if they respect us or not. I could give a (care),” Travis Kelce said. “Keep disrespecting us. Keep telling us that we don’t have it all. We’re in another AFC Championship Game and we’re looking forward to the challenge coming up, and that’s all I give a damn about, one of the best defenses we’ll face all year, we’ve faced all year, and it’s another away game in the playoffs, another hostile environment.”

Sounds like Kelce is locked in on the Baltimore Ravens and the AFC Championship Game.
