The Kansas City Chiefs have needed to adapt their offensive schemes throughout the year.
Travis Kelce hasn’t quite looked himself this season, which is mainly attributed to the string of injuries he has suffered.
He has been the Chiefs’ No. 1 target for several years, but with his injuries in mind, Patrick Mahomes has needed to look elsewhere.
More Rashee Rice:
"I get a little tired on the field, but I've put myself in the deep water in practice, so (Mahomes) knows he can trust me."
On reading defenses: "It's actually becoming a lot easier."

Mahomes has tried to rely on different receivers throughout the year to find an adequate replacement for JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Rashee Rice has become his second-most targeted player behind Kelce, trying to make a monumental impact in his rookie campaign.
In a recent conversation shared via reporter Harold R. Kuntz, Rice said, “I’ve put myself in the deep water in practice so (Mahomes) knows he can trust me.”
Trust between a quarterback and a wide receiver is one of the most critical aspects of an NFL team.
If the two parties trust each other, operating in an in-game situation is much easier.
While Rice has struggled with drops and fumbles at points throughout the year, he has done enough in Mahomes’ eyes to keep earning targets.
For a team that is trying to get back to the Super Bowl, they need a player like Rice to keep stepping up in the offense.
Without him, Mahomes’ receiving options are limited, especially when Kelce isn’t fully healthy.
The Chiefs have started running more two tight end sets, along with having their running backs be a more significant part of the offense.
With any luck, this will open up their offense even more, resulting in better results down the stretch.
