What is Chicago Bears safety Jaquan Brisker doing?

Saturday night was a good night for Chicago Bears fans. It’s OK to admit that. After looking for much of the game like they were going to slay the NFC’s #1 seed, the Green Bay Packers fell just short, losing to the San Francisco 49ers 24-21, meaning that if nothing else went right this season, at least we don’t have to watch the Cheeseheads celebrate another championship.

Chicago Bears v Green Bay Packers

I realize this is already coming off as one of those old man, get-off-my-lawn type of posts, but I’m all for having fun, and I love anything that feeds into the rivalry. This is just a bad look, though. Brisker is trolling the Packers by wondering where they’ll be vacationing now that they’ve been knocked out; the only problem is that the Bears have already had two weeks of their own to hit the beach.

There’s no getting around it: the Packers have had the Bears under their cheddar-stained thumbs for as long as we can remember. Green Bay began the regular season this year by winning at Soldier Field, then they ended it by beating the Bears at Lambeau. That win, in fact, got the Packers into the playoffs. If Brisker wanted to send Jordan Love and Aaron Jones on vacation, he could have done it two weeks ago.

Brisker only just finished his second year, and he’s a fantastic player. He’s also 0-4 against the Pack. Could that change now that the Bears have the potential to add a historic draft haul to an already-ascending roster? Absolutely. But the Packers are young, too, and their run to nearly reaching the NFC Championship is only a preview of what’s to come.

While it’s understandable that Bears fans were ecstatic at the Packers’ loss, Bears safety Jaquan Brisker’s tweet was a bad look

Anytime the Packers lose is cause for celebration, whether you’re a Bears fan, a Bears player, or just someone who doesn’t believe an NFL team should base its entire identity around dairy. Ultimately, Brisker’s tweet is pretty harmless, but for anyone paying attention, it’s just a reminder that in this rivalry, the Bears are still the little brother. Until the Bears are the team still playing in January and the Packers are out, let’s rein it in a little, shall we?
