Report: Pascal Siakam Didn’t Want To Get Traded To Warriors

According to NBA insider Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Golden State Warriors were interested in acquiring Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors.

However, Siakam didn’t want to get traded to the Warriors.

The Warriors are 18-22 on the season. They are in 12th place in the Western Conference standings. Siakam becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer and likely would not have re-signed with the Warriors.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Pascal Siakam, Toronto Raptors, Golden State Warriors Updates
Siakam is averaging 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks this season while shooting 52.2% from the floor, 31.7% from beyond the arc and 75.8% from the free-throw line. He’s making $37.9 million.

Siakam’s agent, Todd Ramasar, told NBA reporter Mark Medina of Sportskeeda that his client is happy to be with the Pacers.

“I could see Pascal in Indiana long term,” Ramasar said. “They want to see Pascal with the organization long term. He’s excited. There are a lot of memories up in Toronto, and a lot of good memories. Although things have changed to where he’s been moved, he’s ecstatic about the opportunity ahead of him in Indiana. First of all, it’s a first-class organization. When you look at [President] Kevin Pritchard and [general manager] Chad Buchanan, these are basketball guys with an organization that always has had basketball executives from Larry Bird to Donnie Walsh that have been there. Their front office is first class.”

Siakam has career averages of 17.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.6 blocks. The Pacers now have two of the players in the NBA leading their team, Siakam and All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton.

The Warriors are open to making trades to improve the roster around Stephen Curry, but their players don’t hold a lot of value in NBA circles.
