Jets’ Aaron Rodgers gets blasted after latest controversy: ‘Con artists can be very convincing’

ESPN NFL insider Dan Graziano ripped New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers during a Wednesday appearance on the ESPN “Unsportsmanlike” program.

“I think Aaron is sort of living down to his reputation in a lot of ways as an attention-hungry, self-absorbed individual,” Graziano explained, per Bridget Hyland of NJ Advance Media for NJ.com. “You hear a lot of things about how he’s been in the Jets building since he got there and they’re positive. Con artists can be very convincing.”

Aaron Rodgers gets blasted after latest controversy

Rodgers joined the Jets from the Green Bay Packers via a trade in the spring of 2023 and later accepted a pay cut to help New York build around him through at least 2024. However, the future Hall of Famer suffered a torn Achilles just four offensive snaps into the Jets’ regular-season opener on Sept. 11. Despite his best efforts, Rodgers was unable to return to the lineup before the Jets were eliminated from playoff contention.

During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” last week, Rodgers seemed to link ABC late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel with Jeffrey Epstein. While the 40-year-old told reporters this past Monday that the “bull—- that has nothing to do with winning has to get out of the (Jets’) building” this offseason, he then shared conspiracy theories about COVID-19 vaccines and other subjects during his latest “McAfee Show” segment on Tuesday.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh insisted this week that nobody within the Jets “really cares about what’s said on ‘The Pat McAfee Show,'” but McAfee revealed on Wednesday that Rodgers will not appear on the ESPN program during the NFL playoffs.

“And I think if he’s got the Jets fooled about who he is, then that’s too bad for them and eventually they’ll pay the price for it,” Graziano added about Rodgers. “But he’s obviously a liar and a narcissistic con artist who is bad for everything he touches. And I think, ultimately, the Jets will pay the price.”

Rodgers is set to run it back for another season along with Saleh, general manager Joe Douglas and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. It appears Graziano believes the Jets are making a mistake remaining all-in on Rodgers.
