New York Giant offensive coordinator, Mike Kafka, is rumored to be staying with the franchise, even though his 2023 campaign was extremely underwhelming and frustrating. Why does a gutsy coach like Brian Daboll want to keep someone like this?

It can be seen as a comfortability issue, or maybe it is because Daboll assumes he will be able to repeat the success from 2022, when Kafka exceeded expectations.

Mike Kafka staying at offensive coordinator means numerous things inside of this franchise, and everyone could have seen them coming.

In other words: Does Kafka staying in New York mean the Giants are sticking with Daniel Jones as their quarterback?

Per the Giants’ usual, they are scared of change, they will not take a shot on another coordinator because they know they can be guaranteed mediocrity. Next, the Giants will keep Daniel Jones, they know he is comfortable in his system, and it has enough potential for him to shine. Keeping Daniel Jones makes sense financially, but the Giants need to make a change there.

Draft a quarterback, and let Daboll mold him, then Kafka can call his mediocre play-calls, but at least there should be more success with Daboll behind things.

Lastly, the New York Giants potential is at a standstill with this guy calling the plays. Kafka plays scared football and depends on someone making a play, not him creating one for them. Hopefully Kafka staying means Saquon Barkley is open to staying on the potential franchise tag.

The Giants need change, this off-season, it will be interesting to see what happens. Who knows, maybe it’s not Kafka and it’s Daboll who’s really the problem.
