Chicago Bulls dominate Joel Embiid-less Philadelphia 76ers

The Chicago Bulls made it two-for-two over the Philadelphia 76ers after a 105-92 win Saturday night at the United Center. With Embiid nursing an injured ankle, the reigning MVP missed the first of a home-and-away set between the two squads. The Bulls took advantage to register their fifth win in seven games and improve to 15-19 for the season.

Pulled away in the fourth
The Bulls were up by only five, 82-77, with 8:41 left in the game when they unleashed a 13-2 blast sparked by a corner triple by Dalen Terry and capped off by a high-looping, buzzer-beating jumper by Ayo Dosunmu that erected a 95-79 lead.

The Bulls weren’t threatened the rest of the way. DeMar DeRozan led the way for Chicago with 24 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Coby White added 20 markers and eight boards. Big man Andre Drummond continued to man the middle with aplomb in Nikola Vucevic’s absence, tallying a huge double-double of 15 points and 23 rebounds to go with two assists, two steals, and three blocks.

Nearing the .500 mark
White said the team is doing what it can to right the ship after a horrendous 4-14 start. With the .500 mark in sight, the Bulls are focused on getting better, with every player ready to contribute when Billy Donovan calls their number. On Saturday, it was Terry Taylor who put up solid numbers of six points, six rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
